Manganese ore grinding process

Release date: 2023-03-07

Manganese is widely distributed in nature, and almost all kinds of ores and silicate rocks contain manganese. The most common manganese ores are anhydrous and hydrous manganese oxide and manganese carbonate. There are 150 known manganese minerals, but the manganese content is the highest. There are only 5-6 manganese minerals that can be enriched in large quantities to form economically valuable manganese minerals. The most important and most economically valuable are pyrolusite and hard manganese ore, and manganese ore, brown manganese ore, black manganese ore, rhodochrosite and so on. The content of manganese in these minerals can reach about 50-70%, which is an important industrial mineral of manganese. Manganese ore grinding has a wide range of uses, let's learn about the use of manganese ore and the process of manganese ore grinding.

1. Use of manganese ore

(1)Metallurgical Industry

Manganese is an indispensable raw material for the steel industry. Manganese is a very strong reducing agent, it can absorb all the oxygen from the molten steel, so that there is no iron oxide in the steel, and it becomes a non-porous steel ingot. Secondly, manganese is also an excellent desulfurizer, which can remove all the sulfur in molten steel. Adding a small amount of manganese to steel can greatly improve the mechanical properties of steel, such as ductility, ductility, toughness and wear resistance. Manganese steel, ferromanganese, and various alloys and manganese compounds made of manganese and copper, aluminum, nickel, cobalt, etc. are extremely useful in industry.

(2)Ferrous metallurgy

Standard ferromanganese can be smelted with high-grade manganese ore containing iron. Ferromanganese is an additional material for the production of special steel, and a small amount of silicomanganese can also be smelted. Silico-manganese is useful for smelting certain types of steel;

(3)Nonferrous metallurgical industry

Alloys of manganese and copper make corrosion-resistant metal receptacles. Manganese bronze alloy can be used as ship equipment. Manganese-aluminum alloys have great uses in the aviation industry. Manganese nickel copper alloy can make standard resistance wire.

(4)chemical industry

Manganese dioxide (pyrolulurite) can be used as a negative agent in the manufacture of dry batteries, and can be used as a paint drier in the chemical industry. Black decorative glass and glazed colors for decorative brick and pottery are also manufactured. It can also be used as various manganese compounds, such as manganese sulfate, manganese chloride, potassium permanganate, etc.

2. Manganese ore grinding process

Stage 1: crushing of raw materials

The bulk material of manganese ore is crushed by the crusher to the feed fineness (15mm-50mm) that can enter the mill.

Stage 2: Grinding

The crushed manganese ore small pieces are sent to the storage hopper by the elevator, and then evenly and quantitatively sent to the grinding chamber of the mill by the feeder for grinding.

Stage 3: Grading

The ground material is classified by the classification system, and the unqualified powder is classified by the classifier and returned to the main machine for re-grinding.

Manganese ore is widely used, and we can process it with a mill to increase its utilization value. The finer the manganese ore powder, the higher its value. The main models recommended by Guilin Hongcheng are Raymond Mill and Vertical Grinding Mill. If you want to know more about manganese ore grinding machine, please leave a message for consultation.
